Calorie Diet - How to calculate how many calories you should eat to lose weight
Following is a formula for the amount of daily intake...
Take your weight, for example 200 pounds and add a zero on the end.
2000 calories
This is pretty much the amount of calories per day you are eating to
maintain the 200 pound weight.
Then take your desired weight, 120 pounds and add a zero on the end.
1200 calories
This is the amount you should be eating to get to the desired weight.
BUT the difference in how many calories you drop down to should NOT be
more than 500-700 calories below your current intake.
i.e. between 2000 - 500 = 1500 calories for the diet
2000 - 700 = 1300 calories for the diet.
For this example, you should not eat less than 1300 calories. If
you do, you will be burning up your MUSCLES instead of fat. When
you drop some weight, you recalculate.
For every 3000 calories eliminated, you lose 1 pound. Walking a
mile a day burns 100 calories, 10 minutes of sit ups only burns
40 calories.
